Wild Walkers (Pty) Ltd – Terms and Conditions
While Wild Walkers (Pty) Ltd has taken diligent measures to ensure a safely guided experience, it is important to acknowledge that hiking inherently involves some level of risk. Consequently, it is imperative that participants possess appropriate personal insurance coverage, including medical aid with an evacuation plan. If such coverage is lacking, a short-term insurance policy must be obtained for the entirety of the trip. Additionally, it is strongly advised to secure insurance for personal equipment and belongings, as any loss incurred due to inadequate insurance is the sole responsibility of the participant.
Wild Walkers and all individuals affiliated with the business cannot be held accountable for any loss or damage to participants’ equipment. Furthermore, neither Wild Walkers nor its associates can be held liable for any injuries, illnesses, or fatalities that may occur during the tour or at any point thereafter.
Payment terms for our hiking adventures are structured as follows:
- A 50% deposit is required to secure a spot on the hike.
- The remaining 50% must be paid two months prior to the hike start date.
Refund Policy:
Recognizing the unpredictability of life, the minimum refund policy is outlined below, with any additional refunds subject to the discretion of Wild Walkers:
- Cancellations more than 6 months in advance: 80% refund.
- Cancellations between 6 and 2 months away: 40% of hike value refunded in cash; 25% credited toward a future hike.
- Cancellations less than 2 months away: Full tour value is forfeited (due to accommodation commitments).
Substitutions:
Substitutions are permitted at any time without additional charges, provided all required documents are signed and formalized by our office in a timely manner.
Weather:
While weather conditions are beyond our control, in the event of extreme conditions like flooding, we will endeavor to reschedule the tour, pending availability.
Hike Cancellations:
A minimum of 8 participants is required to conduct a hike. In the event of hike cancellation by Wild Walkers, the hike fee will be fully refunded, or alternative arrangements will be explored.
The hikes are subject to itinerary changes based on uncontrollable factors such as accommodation availability, extreme weather, river crossings, logistical issues, flight delays, government lockdowns, riots etc
Listed prices cover per-person trip expenses. Additional costs, such as airfare, rental cars, and pre/post-hiking tour lodging, alcohol and refreshments are the responsibility of participants and are not included in the listed price.
Medical Assistance:
Participants are responsible for their safety in remote areas with limited cell signal and medical access. Adequate medical insurance, covering helicopter evacuation and hospitalization, is advisable. Accurate and active personal details are crucial for medical assistance.
